Brief description of the project
The aim of the project was the integration of the cultural offer of Villa Valmarana ai Nani and new promotional services, through the creation of a multimedia space and a shop. To accomplish the task two rooms in the basement of the Palazzina, formerly used as depository and cellar, has been refurbished.
One room has become the Bookshop, a place wherein the tourists may purchase not only books and souvenirs, but even typical local products such as ceramics, jewellery, food, wine, liquors, artistic items and more. This space's purposes are to complete the visiting experience in the Villa, to enrich the cultural offer of the province of Vicenza and, above all, to show how much Villa Valmarana ai Nani is tied to its territory's history and traditions.
The other room has been transformed into the amazing Immersive Room, a multimedia cinema devoted to the digital discovery of Villa Valmarana ai Nani and its magnificent frescoes painted by Giambattista and Giandomenico Tiepolo. This spectacular, yet educational attraction is visited by over 20,000 people per year and has improved the connection between culture and new technologies.
We live in an age wherein the experiential tourism prevails over other tourist activities and digital devices are fully integrated with our lives. The Immersive Room is a concept devised to transport the visitor to a digital space, wherein he/she is literally surrounded by contents and immersed into images and sounds, travelling back to the past thanks to a 360° multimedia experience.
Technically speaking, the plan provided for the installation of digital audio/video technologies capable to project contents onto the walls, around the perimeter of the room. The multimedia projection can be managed by central or remote control.
